EASLIS hold a Web 2.0 workshop

The East African School of library and Information Science held a web training workshop for its staff members on the 2nd -3rd July 2011. The workshop, dubbed “Web 2.0 technologies’ was facilitated by Tito Okumu and saw staff members get equipped with online interactive teaching methods.

“The training was very refreshing to staff especially in E-learning skills, following an earlier training by MUELE. I found it quite interactive too for both staff and students,’’ explained Dr. George Kiyingi, the EASLIS Head of Library and Information Sciences Department. He encouraged students to embrace e-learning because it is the way to go.

“I learnt how to use web 2.0 technologies to conduct research, teaching and learning. It has quite interesting. We should have more of such trainings,’’ remarked Sarah Wego, one of the fifteen participants.

The training was conducted at the East African School of Library and Information Science, an preparations are underway to have similar training sin future.
